Hi, I'm David Rudat, and Welcome to DR Gear Knives! 

I started making knives in 2018 when I was 13 years old in my parent's garage, and I was hooked from the start. I am currently working at turning this hobby into a business. My goal is to become a Master Smith in the American Bladesmith Society and to be a full-time smith. From kitchen knives to Japanese tanto, handcrafting your knife is my pleasure. I am based in beautiful Northeastern Pennsylvania and am loving every moment learning and improving myself as a smith. Thank you for looking.
